How to Disable Windows Security Center Alerts

    • 1). Click on the Windows "Start" menu, click on the "Control Panel" and click on "Security." If prompted, type your administrator password and click "OK" to launch the Windows Security Center.

    • 2). Click "Change the way Security Center alerts me" link. Uncheck the alert option you want. For example, uncheck "Firewall" if you do not want to receive firewall notifications. After making your selections, type your administrator password if Windows prompts you to enter it.

    • 3). Close the Security Center to complete the process.
