How to Attach Spinner Bait

    • 1). Attach spinner baits to your monofilament, fluorocarbon or braided fishing line with a Palomar knot. The attachment point for the line will be the bend or looped wire in the bend depending on how the bait is manufactured.

    • 2). Feed several inches of line through the eye of the spinner bait. Pull the line through the eye, turn the end of the line to form a loop and feed the free end back through the eye.

    • 3). Place the free end of the line alongside the main line just above the eye or bend of the spinner bait to form a doubled line. Adjust the line so that the loop and length along the main line are both 3 to 4 inches long.

    • 4). Tie an over hand knot with the loop and doubled line. Pull the loop through the over hand knot and slip around the entire spinner bait.

    • 5). Moisten the line and slowly pull the knot tight. Hold the spinner bait in one hand and the doubled line in the other. Make any small adjustments to the knot as it is pulled tight. Trim excess line from the free end with a pair of scissors.
